Harringay, Haringey - So Good they Spelt it Twice!

In Crouch End 'Murray' caught my eye with interesting window display of scarves, shoes, knitwear and the like, in a contemporary retro style. They opened about 6 weeks ago, a family business who live locally. Previously involved in the organisation of a massive music festival, they have applied their eye for quality in sourcing stylish and well-crafted accessories and clothes, much of it British-made. Their stock includes bags, headgear, socks, pullovers, much from niche designers and suppliers - and even some quirky collectables - at prices to suit different pockets. I was also impressed by the care they had taken in fitting out their small shop interior which is cosy and welcoming. It's at 142 Crouch Hill (next door to 'Flashback' records). A welcome addition to the independent retailers in the area. Could be a perfect place to find quality gifts or to treat yourself.

I wonder if they will be selling the latest men's 'fashion' item Meggings, simply lycra footless tights for men.  I'm one of these old-fashioned chaps who likes proper braces that button-on to my waistband, will I be able to get some?  But I have also experienced the comfort of a kilt style skirt with stockings rather than the somewhat impractical, for men that is, tights.  Think about it!  But these footballers who are now wearing tights in cold weather - yes, Google it - obviously don't get a comfort break for 50+ minutes at a time, but like to either keep warm or use the lycra to support their hard working muscles in the cold, including a Spurs player!

Robin Hood, Men in Tights was a joke, funny how fact follows fiction!

Hi Geoff, Thank you for the suggestion. I finally got the time today to venture out and look for a Christmas present for my boyfriend and was happy to find something at Murray after remembering this post. Great little shop focusing on mens accessories from independent designers with not many shops near by offering anything similar. Well worth a visit.
