Harringay, Haringey - So Good they Spelt it Twice!

Hi

I am thinking of joining a local gym. Has anyone used the Pure Gym at Finsbury Park? If so I would be interested in hearing what you think?

It's busier than say sobell, but worth trying if you plan to go off peak. I'm a big spinning fan but got fed up with the amount of broken bikes and lack of care by the staff in general but there is no tie in so you can leave with a months notice. The same can't be said for Fitness First and I have to say the one in Harringay offers little more than the budget gyms like Pure Gym and The Gym. I like Sobell as it has good classes and is a friendly space. I'm thinking of returning there

Thanks TTTH. What appealed about Pure Gym is the fact it's open 24-hour hours as I need to have flexibility. I definitely don't want to go to Fitness First - I only ever hear negative things about it. Virgin is far too expensive. I hadn't thought of Sobell though - I might look into that too. It's just that Pure Gym is  a more convenient location

I really like Pure Gym! It's fairly well maintained, usually clean, although the weights area can be a bit of a mess when it's not staffed of course. Loads of choice for classes, and you can see online how many people are in the gym at any one time so you can avoid it if it's looking crazy busy! The only times I've found it to be annoyingly busy is the standard after work time (6-8pm), but otherwise had no problems.
