Harringay, Haringey - So Good they Spelt it Twice!

Just read the post saying the Queen's Head is to be turned into flats. Bit slow, maybe, but then I do have other things to do ;) Anyway I wish it could be a pub again, albeit a decent one. Wouldn't do any harm at all for the Salisbury to have a bit of competition...

We need something like this:  http://northnineteen.co.uk/

Used to a run down pub, then a gay bar that was infamous for drug dealing, a couple who were fed up with the lack of pubs in the area bought the building and have turned it into a lovely, welcoming pub with great food.

Checked out the website. Looks good.. but BITE says it's 0.1 miles from the amazing Landseer! Quite a few decent pubs in upper Holloway imo.. Mind you I'm a bit disappointed it serves food. I'm rather unreconstructed and prefer pubs to be pubs..!

Northnineteen is a very good pub and they've done a very good job.

I'd just like some pubs with a bit of an outdoor area / garden too

Good point. It's something an area like Hampstead has a lot of. There is higher density to the housing around here but the only "beer garden"  I can think of is the Beaconsfield's - and to be fair to the place I am not sure the term really fits...

I agree with this. The Salisbuary is possibly one of the finest pubs in my opinion (although is let down by lack of garden)

The Queens head wasnt a nice pub but at least one more decent one in the area would be good

The ground floor will be retained as a pub but from a conversation I had with David Schmitz on Sunday I got the impression that there would definitely be flats where the beer garden used to be around the side.
