Harringay, Haringey - So Good they Spelt it Twice!

Props sought for art exhibition opening Oct 2024

Hi everyone

I work for SPACE, an arts organisation with a free public art gallery in Redbridge - we are about to put on a painting exhibition by the artist Djofray Makumbu which will open towards the end of October this year, and would like to include a "room set" from the 1980s as context for the artwork.

We are looking to borrow a 1980's tv and sofa (and record player) and cabinet. If anyone has any bright ideas where we might start looking for these type of props... we'd need them on loan for 6 months from October 2024 until end of March 2025. We are a charity, so our budget is tiny!

Possibly the Museum of the Home (formerly Geoffrey Museum) might be able to help you or point you in the right direction.

Funny you should say that Maddy - we are in touch with them! So fingers crossed. I’ve just visited their new rooms - fabulous addition to an already wonderful museum
