Power Cut?

My power flashed of and then back on again about 15 mins ago. One of my neighbours just called to say that his power is still off. It looks like randomly down the road some houses have power and others not.

Is it just Hewitt?

Power distribution is done using three-phase electric power.

The usually associate a group of houses to each of the phase to balance the consumption.
Therefore if one of the phases gets broken, you might notice this random power cut effect as you described.
