Harringay, Haringey - So Good they Spelt it Twice!

Caution - 2 humdingers near the centre of the road. My girlfriend blew out a front shock and was taken to collision with a bus last week so do look out.

Thanks, Ingo. Now is the Winter of discontent from potholes as water in road surfaces freezes and thaws. So it helps enormously if you and other people keep reporting.

Haringey will ask you to send reports to its own website Report a Problem pages.

Though people may prefer to use these for many street problems, for potholes I still tend to use the free website FixMyStreet.  It has three features which the Council's website does not yet offer.   (1) You can upload a photo.  (2) Anyone can look at the street maps and the photos on FixMyStreet and see if and when previous reports were made - and often, whether or not they've been fixed. (3) Residents, council staff and contractors may see recurrent problems, or patterns of problems as clusters of markers on the maps.

I take your point about the "funnelling" of traffic. This seems to happen in many residential streets which are wide enough for three lanes, but have become carparks on the two outer lanes. So vehicle wheels constantly hit the same two strips of roadway. (Photo in Chesterfield Gardens illustrates.)

Alan, well done in not linking this directly to the Council Leader.

When I suggested that Clare come down with her plunger to the southernmost corner of Finsbury Park to address the chronic flooding by the non-performing drain, I didn't mean it literally.

Certainly, the within its vast estate, the council ought to be able to find a means of fixing this chronic problem (yesterday there was no flooding, but it just takes a rainfall).

Clive, there's a rumour that you're actually Banksy. Is this true? Or perhaps one of the other well known Haringey street artists whose work we should treasure and protect. Or visit Miami to see their oeuvre again.

Obviously you're not Dumpsy or Slabsy. Perhaps Polesy?

Or Sleepsy? I'm told he's the one who didn't fancy getting up at 2am to climb buildings.

Here's Mayor Kirk Caldwell, filmed last month filling a pothole on Gulick Avenue, Kalihi.
