One of the issues with the franchise model is they can refuse to accept business mail which is going to make life difficult for many small businesses like mine. I've heard some not so good reports of franchises refusing business mail or leaving it out at the road side from other business owners out in rural areas where their post office has been closed.

A Royal Mail pickup service costs around£1000 plus VAT a year. Free if you spend over £15,000 a year on postage though.
