Hi everybody!
I do hope this is acceptable as a one-off post, and that it's relevant to plenty of people.
The Portland Scallop Co were trading at Ally Pally market for many years, and built up a huge reputation for their range, quality and freshness, as well as consistency.
They'll be coming to Stroud Green Market every week starting from this Sunday 16th, 10 - 2:30, Perth Rd N4 3HB.
Unlike the name would imply, they do not sell just scallops but a huge range of wet fish, smoked and shellfish caught mostly off the Dorset and Devon coasts.
The company was set up 25 years ago by Jamie Walker and Debbie Hughes when Jamie, a former commercial diver, would dive for scallops in Lyme Bay and sell them at Borough Market. They still sell dived scallops but are also supplied with Portland bass, bream, monkfish, turbot, grey mullet, skate, plaice, brill and much more from local fishermen. Shellfish includes crab, rope-grown mussels, lobster, Poole clams, oysters and Cornish crevettes. They also sell a wide range of smoked fish including; Scottish salmon, gravadlax, hot smoked salmon, kippers, oak smoked undyed haddock and oak smoked mackerel.

Thank you all for reading! Happy New Year to you all, whether or not you are a fish lover.
