The Portable Bookshop will set up temporary stalls in different cafes, bars, shops and public spaces around Crouch End with a small selection of stock chosen for each venue.
The organisers say they aim to give booklovers local places to congregate and find the best next book for them. They're also hoping to help local traders bring more people into their spaces at times when they have spare capacity.
The Portable Bookshop will use Twitter plus plain word of mouth and even leaflets to spread the word about where they'll be when.
Stock will include new titles, signed copies of books by local authors; specialist selections - like the best Weird Fiction from HP Lovecraft to Neil Gaiman; themed 'Takeways' of poetry and fiction - and we're also asking for recommendations from all kinds of notable locals.
Artworks, cards and other stuff will also be on sale and the organisers are offering tips on what to read on ereaders and ipads as well as on paper.
