Harringay, Haringey - So Good they Spelt it Twice!

Anyone got any leads on how I can child proof my pond ? Does anyone have a contraption they don't need and are willing to sell ? Anyone a blacksmith and willing to make a cover that doesn't cost to much that will be safe ? The ponds about 1.5 meters x 1 meter.

Deep ponds swimming pools are lethal for children, my sister-in-law nearly lost her twins in a pool. Try strong mesh, it must be readily available.

Only safe way is fill in the pond. One day you will forget to replace the cover.

You can cut a mesh to cover the pond, once you have a few plants growing through it there would be no need to remove it. I will also stop cats and herons scooping your prize carp out.

Not true john. There a lots of perfectly good solutions.

When we moved in our pond had a metal grid made up of something like 3 inch squares. My guess is that it was something like this. It's quite cheap, can be cut to pretty much any size you want, will burnish quite fast and is certainly strong enough to do the job.

Sand pit?

Sadly not with the amount of filthy cat shit around oozing toxoplasmosis.
