Harringay, Haringey - So Good they Spelt it Twice!

Hello all, my first post.

I am preparing a police complaint about a big fat white dog that the police pepper sprayed then shot 5 times in the Harringay Passage by Seymour Road in the early hours of last Thursday the 18th July.

The dog had ben left abandoned and tied to the railings there sometime on the night of Wednesday the 17th.

If any one witnessed the dog or the person seen standing with the dog for some time before leaving, or has any information about this event at all, please let me know.

If you require more information about this from me I will email you the outline of events as I understand them at the moment.

Thanks,

Mark Townson.

Most odd. A somewhat different experience to mine a couple of years ago

Abandonded dog in Harringay Passage

Yup, it clearly wasn't the 'quickest or most efficient' solution that others have suggested here.

Honestly? I think they just thought they'd get away with it because of the time. I hope that the complaint sends a clear message that they judged that badly wrong.

The police dog unit identified the dog as a dangerous dog at 1.15am in the morning.

So they shot the dog and then went looking for criminals.

What evidence have you got that "i think they just thought they'd get away with it because of the time...they judged that badly wrong"

How do you know that Mark has not judged it badly wrong. No offense to Mark.

Why is it most odd. The police in the incident a couple of years ago might not have judged it was a dangerous dog so they did not need to shoot it when they judged it was this time.

Even if it wasn't a dangerous dog the police might not have had the resources to take the dog away and house it. Er, perhaps because they had to go and help people who had been burgled.

I think people add two and two together and make five and blame the police alot of the time. I'm a bit sick of the police getting stick. And I was very glad of their help when rioters scared people.

The streets are so much more dangerous now as police scared to act incase of complaints.

I think people should stop complaining about the police and let them do their job in any way.

Tottenham & Wood Green Journal - A spokesman for Haringey Police said officers were called to Seymour Road on the Ladder just before 1.15am on Thursday, July 18, following reports of dog behaving dangerously in a public place.

They contained the dog, which appeared to have been abandoned, and summoned a dog unit which identified it as a dangerous dog.

the police spokesman continued: “The dog continued to behave aggressively and a firearms unit was requested to help deal [with it].

“The dog was put down a short while later by a firearms officer.”

No-one was injured during the incident, and no arrests have been made.

dont want to give name –so the gist of your position is that its ok for the police to pepper spray a tethered frighten stray dog, shoot it 5 times, whilst ordering the resident witnesses to go indoors on threat of arrest ?

You must be having a laugh.

No Mike, I am being serious.

I don't make a formal complaint if old bill treat people rudely or discriminate, because I think they might have to do this to cut crime more effectively.

I've been treated rudely by old bill myself, I didn't enjoy it , infact it hurt my feelings ,but I was not a hypocrite so I did not make a formal complaint. I refuse to elaborate on this.

You can't complain about discrimination if you believe it is ok for old bill to discriminate and to break the law.Which I do. I believe in rough justice not political correctness...

So if old bill gave me a kicking, I would not be making a formal complaint about it because I would want them to do the same thing to criminals.Old ways are the best.

I think people on this thread might be pursuing their own agenda at the expense of others.

I mean at the expense of other local parents to be safe with kids on the streets.

Alison, you wrote: "what  a dreadfull thing to have happened"

So you are saying that you believe Mark's version of events, rather than the version of events of the metropolitan police dog unit.

Have you got any evidence for that?

So many times reading HOL over the years, but not taking part myself, I have seen parents who  hide behind a thin veneer of liberalism, but are quite obviously in fact deeply deeply conservative.

These so called "liberals" complain about discrimination in society but when push comes to shove are in fact the most discriminatory people themselves.Because they want the best for their kids at the expense of other local kids in the community.

These liberals do things like move into the catchment area of good schools and use their "sharp elbowed tactics" to exclude local parents from local schools. So they can get their own kids into those schools.

These so called liberals wear liberalism like a kind of left wing fashion accesory and then when it comes down to it they push for their own advantage at the expense of others.

I think that is what is happening to some extent on this thread. It's very selfish.

"dont want to give name" Are you for real? You think complaining about an innocent animal being mistreated is "selfish"? So "old bill" (not THE old bill..) "hurt your feelings"? Boohoo. They did a lot more than hurt this dog's feelings, that much is obvious. The dog is DEAD.

Mark would not have been making such a big deal out of this if nothing happened. I happen to know who Mark is in real life, and he is of sane mind, I can assure you. If this was indeed a case of animal cruelty, then it should be reported. And it has been. If it was not, then I'm sure that will come out in the wash too.

Until then, maybe keep your paranoid musings to yourself? Just a suggestion.

Well said Anita.

I think the key piece of information is that 'don't want to give name' doesn't want to give his name. Perfectly understandable - indeed, in his shoes I would be ashamed of posting such drivel and would not want anyone to know who I was.

Selfish animal lovers don't want to believe officers from the metropolitan police dog unit that  identified the dog as dangerous.

So perhaps they would rather have the dog "a dangerous dog" rehoused in the local community where it could attack  kids.

That's selfish.

They have lost the argument so resort to personal abuse as usual on HOL.

Unlike some of the people on HOL I will not lower myself to personally insult people when I disagree with them. Because I think it is common and shows a complete lack of class, I think.

what unlike poor grammar and constant references to someone called old bill who hurt your little feelings. You're clearly trolling, and I will never respond to any of your posts again. Goodbye.

Nice of you to stick up for Claire Kober posting from her anonymous account Billy. The plot thickens.
