Harringay, Haringey - So Good they Spelt it Twice!
Planning a mega refurbishment - architect and builder recommendations extremely welcome!
Dear All,
I have recently moved back to the Ladder (my previous stay was during Uni 10 years ago!) and have bought what we (my husband and I) hope to be a fantastic family home. However it needs an awful lot of work.
We are planning on a side return extension, so need an architect to get us through planning (does anyone have any information on Haringey's council approach to side return extensions?) and to also spec the subsequent build and house refurb (new electrics, plumbing, plastering, decorating etc).
We then also need a builder who can do the job, the important thing is that we will be at work during the day, so someone who is a great project manager is essential.
If you have any recommendations, please do let me know.

Hi Clarissa,
We have been using Dave and Greg (Dave 07794 354449) for our complete Harringay Ladder house renovation. They also have an architect who they can use on the job.
They are just coming to an end with our house and work has been amazing. They are really trustworthy and easy to get along with which makes a massive difference.

I have been using the same builders (A&E) for lots of my jobs (i am an interior designer). Adam and Gregory did our previous house in Fulham and now they are doing our new house here on the ladder. They are professional and reliable. Being in this field, i cannot recommend them enough. Call Gregory at +44 78 1371 7754.

Hi Clarissa. Sorry if I'm late for this, but anyway we've just had a kitchen extension built by a company called Decoracus. They're a polish firm, based on Hermitage Road. They have been amazing. Friendly and considerate, gave the most itemised quote i've ever seen, did what they said they would do, in the time they said they'd do it. Even gave us back £500 at the end that was underspent. Hi Clarissa,
Did you go ahead with any of these recommended companies in the end? We're planning an extension now too (extending our kitchen and developing patio area) and it'd be good to know if you used any of these. If not, who did you use?

Make sure you take a look at their previous work. When we were looking for someone to do our mega-renovation, we went round at a few properties and could easily see how much better one company was compared to another! The devil is in the detail ;-)
