Harringay, Haringey - So Good they Spelt it Twice!

Just to let you know my phone was taken out of my hand whilst texting on the corner of Conway Road and Woodlands park road yesterday at about 4:15pm. I was in so much shock that I didn't shout or anything: and I couldnt run after the school boy on the bike as I had my baby in the pram.

Just a warning. It's ridiculous I cant bring my phone out to check a message in my neighbourhood. To think that a boy on a bike would have the audacity to do that to anyone in broad daylight.

On a brighter note, the police came very quickly and tried their best to find my phone using the tracker system, but I know I won't be getting my phone back.

This happened to me before a couple years ago in Hackney too..that time it was me on a bicycle, and a moped driving past me to swipe my phone out of my hand.

Me and luck with phones eh.

I'm sorry to hear this happened to you and in your own neighbourhood.

Thanks for the warning to others.

It is such a shame this is happening with increasing frequency.

It's not much but hope let's hope this pulls people together to watch out for each other.

Sorry to hear that, hope you're not too shaken. Thanks for the warning. It's easy to get complacent so I will take more care as I live near there.
When my handbag was snatched from me a few years ago in broad daylight on seven sisters road my only consoling thought was that, at least my life wasn't so desperate that I felt the need to go around snatching bags from people. What kind of life is that, and such a young kid, what kind of life is he going to have? Things could be worse I guess.

I'm sorry to hear this.  Hope you are recovering.

Just to add, my 13 yr old saw the same thing happen to a young man just near the New River Sports Centre last Friday at about 7pm.  Unfortunately, it seems to be happening more frequently.

Sorry you have to go through such an experience while you are with your baby too. If it makes you feel any better it's not just your neighborhood , I have seen it personally in crouch end and heard about it in Stroud green and islington and archway and highgate so no one is amune to it in any area we just have to get used to keep our phones in our pockets until we get indoors
I hope they manage to track your phone that at least would be something .
