As well as hanging out on HoL complaining about flytipping and discussing kebabs, I am also a dancer. My company, Darkstar Dance, has a show in Camden at the end of the month as part of the Black Box Festival. Its a theatrical dance show - belly dance meet tales of the unexpected - and although I am a little based I think its going to be a good one!
Most of the dancers are North London based, so we're a local group. The festival take place in the Oxford Arms theatre pub in Camden - so not in Harringay - but a sort hop on the 29. More details below:
"Phantasmagoria - the twisted spawn of the Folies Bergère and the Grand Guignol. Enter a world of shadows and witches, mermaids and madness. A window dresser who works late and then vanishes leaving no trace, a pirate who thinks he can cheat the queen of the sea, and a bordello where the girls never age and some of the guests stay forever. When was the last time a dance gave you nightmares?
One hour - 7 dancers - 22 costume changes -fans, skulls, veils, masks, puppets, glitter and destruction - all for a measly £10 of your money (and its above a pub, what more could you want?)"
