Peregrine falcon
Does anyone know if there is still a peregrine falcon nesting at Ally Pally?
Just spotted one in our garden (N10)

Yes I spotted that. Presumably it helps that there are no gamekeepers in London poisoning birds of prey to protect grouse and pheasant shoots.
Just wish it had taken a feral pidgeon rather than one of the lovely collared doves which frequent our garden.
Never cease to be amazed at how much wildlife we have in north London — have also had a couple of hedghog sightings in past year

No gamekeepers, but if ever gets to breed someone's cat will attack the nest and kill the chicks, like the tens of thousands of other birds that get killed in the same way, depending of course if it hasn't been frightened to death by the firework display.

I know what you mean Neil, but they can nest on accessible ledges etc, that's if the cat doesn't get them on the ground during flight training!.

Don't know if it's nesting in Ally Pally, but there's one been spotted around Ally Pally in the last few weeks. My wife saw it chasing pigeons a couple of weeks ago, and according to this website it's been spotted by others too.
