One Way Streets - a polemic in maps

As a preamble to the Festival's Love your Street programme, London Festival of Architecture director Peter Murray is holding an exhibition entitled "One Way Streets - a polemic in maps" at the Rebecca Hossack Gallery, Conway Street, Ftizroy Square, London W1T 6BA from April 6 to 13th.

The exhibition consists of a series of maps on enamel panels, Peter's thesis being that one way streets are an anachronism - they were created for the go-faster city when the car was king - as we move towards an urban environment where walking and cycling predominate then many one way streets can be consigned to the dustbin of history. News that Piccadilly and Pall Mall are to become two way is to be welcomed.

I think you'll find the car is still king on the ladder... that's why the raods are still one-way here
You're right Chris. The one way streets helped open it up wonderfully for people to use our neighbourhood as thoroughfare or racetrack.
