Harringay, Haringey - So Good they Spelt it Twice!

On HoL it's all about Epstein, Mandelson, Starmer, hating Lammy ? Or maybe we should start with Marina Hyde?

Like many of us, I take my lead from what I see or read, or hear others say. Leading to my feelings of sickening anger especially as we engage in intense conversations with people we love and trust.

One Israeli who understandably left Israel/Palestine many years ago, sends me essays I treasure. And where she now speaks of Starmer's need to save his soul not just a political career.

Former Prime Minister Gordon Brown was on the radio this morning. Talking what seemed excellent sense about what needs doing urgently and radically to clean-out our systems. Very persuasive. Until he offered a highly unlikely explanation why Keir Starmer was the man for these urgent jobs. As if the best doctor we have for the epidemic is also the man who told his subordinates to let Mandelson help spread the deadly infection. And while not top of Gordon Brown's long list of sicknesses and symptoms, at least he included the crucial issue of abused women and girls.

Which made me appreciate Marina Hyde even more. Because that's where she has continued to  shout out.

My apologies to people who tried to reach the link I gave.

This is the correct link to the complete Guardian article.

(Now also corrected above)

(I'm unsure if - the most likely - it's my own ageing. Or partly, junk I bought: Windows 11 on a machine called Lenovo.)

Curious that the wellbeing of these young women is concerning the people who aren't outraged at the mass rape of vulnerable young girls by Pakistani rape gangs over decades in our own cities.

Cynthia Brown you don't know me and know little if anything of what sickens and outrages me. Nor about the years of my life when I worked in an agency whose remit included protection of vulnerable young girls.

If you are reading Marina Hyde and other journalists writing now, you will note in addition, many people's outrage at the trafficking of young women and girls across countries and continents by immensely rich and powerful men and their enablers; with no limit of religion, social class, or nationality.

I rest my case.

you do? thank goodness you're not my lawyer!

😂

Cynthia Brown, reflecting on your question and latest response, I wonder if I should be more explicit.
I followed some of the media reports of organised child sexual exploitation in northern cities, I was appalled including because the criminals targeted vulnerable girls.  I read summaries of Baroness Casey's work. (But can't claim any specific expertise related to those cities and communities.)

As you know well, the Mandelson+Epstein+others events involved sexually trafficking, exploiting and harming young women and girls.
I hope and assume you and I are both sickened and angered by both sets of events.

It appears to me that in both cases a deplorable feature was the lack of empathy with female victims by male perpetrators. It appears the former were not respected or valued as people.

I don't understand what "case" you are making or "resting"

They simply get away with it (reasons 14,15,16). But once I turn 50 I should be ok. Yay!

If there is earlier data we'd be able to see how many of the 'pending outcomes' are resolved in later years. Then we'd know if the proportion of cases resulting in a charge is actually as low as they appear in this data set.

You don't happen to have the data showing the number of offenders by ethnicity and the proportion of that ethnicity of the overall population do you?

I hate to sound like you know who, John, but in this case it would actually be helpful - which jurisdiction does this relate to and what's the source?

I do hope it's not just London/the Met.

Brian I had the same thought. I reserve judgement on much that I see on social media because of the omission of two simple facts. The two Ws: When? and Where?

Mark Michaels, Can I please make a request to you?

While other people on this website focus on a vitally serious issue, your post helpfully illustrates that you've nothing to say other than repeat the similar silly, empty, ill-informed abuse you've posted before.

To avoid the temptation for future pointless duplication, just leave this latest posting here.  Although I will understand if you wish to correct your embarrassing Shakespeare misquote.  ("... the lady had to doth protest too much ... )
