I'm happy to be full of childish glee with you Judith. Shame though it's not paassing by Arena Arcade on Green Lanes which was the site of the Harringay stadium that held Basketball events during the last London Olympics ... but it'll be near enough.

Thanks for the update Judith - and yes it seems daft not to go by the site of the 1948 Olympics or the siet of Jamaica Village. I wonder who planned the route.

And they've missed an obvious turn off TLA504 onto Wightman Road B138. What are they avoiding: the hills? the turns? the polluting particulates? or just the people?

This is what LOCOG have to say on how the route was chosen:

The route development was a two year consultation process including every nation and region and local authority across the UK. LOCOG also worked with national bodies on tourism, heritage, sport, education, culture, sustainability and diversity and inclusion. (By email from the LOCOG Press Office)

I'm not happy that the route is coming through Tottenham. It would have been far better for the organisers that they taken a different route, for example:

From Upper Edmonton, turn into North Circular Road

Turn left into Green Lanes (Palmers Green)

Through to Wood Green High Road

Then rejoin the original route to Alexandra Palace.

A friend is one of the torch bearers but I am not sure which day as she is currently away on a world trip.

The route will be running past my house in Lordship Lane so I'll be there to cheer it on.

We could have a HOL contingency to cheer them on.

Well, I have booked the day off work, so I am up for anything....
