I have recently resigned as Secretary of Lee Valley Bats, as did the Chair. I co-founded the group in 2007.
I'm well versed in bat ecology, mitigation and more, and continue to ensure bats are given special care in the borough, providing advise to the Council on, for example: creating wildflower meadows (as they attract insects for our tiny bats to eat); where to put up bat roost boxes; ways to reduce night time glare from street lamps, (which creates temporary blindness in bats and is a nuisance for most living things - including us!)
North London Bats hugely emphazises on education, through its community activities.
At the moment, the website is maintained by me and all activities led by me, but quite soon friend, ecologist and bat person, Charlotte Brennan, (previously the Chair of LVB), will be joining me. Together we will provide a number of services: school and other bat talks, nocturnal bat walks, bat surveys and more, including free telephone bat advice, on straightforward matters.
COMMUNITY BAT WALKS ARE FREE. They will be advertised on Haringey Online in due course. Email for more information.
