Harringay, Haringey - So Good they Spelt it Twice!

BAME and LGBTQI+ issue-based arts charity Wise Thoughts, which is based in Wood Green library, Haringey has resumed all its regular space -based, hybrid working, events and operations since beginning of 2022.

Post the beginning of COVID-19 pandemic many of the operations and additional temporary services such as befriending, essential parcel service for its LGBTQI+ clients, were moved online, supporting the local marginalised people.

Following activities are back to 2020 level now:

  • First Thursdays monthly (6 to 6.40 pm reguar #gayWISE online LGBTQI+ dropin and social meet-up session. The group has requested to get in touch with them via email to receive the online drop-in links.
  • Second Thursdays monthly (5 to 7 pm) regular #womxnWISE space-based LBT+ guests drop-ins and social meet-ups.
  • Third Thursdays monthly (5 to 7 pm) regular #gayWISE space-based LGBTQI+ drop-ins and social meet-ups.
  • Drop-ins are free to attend for LGBTQI+ people aged 16+ and people are welcomed to take part in social networking, activities in each session.

Apart from the above activities, Wise Thoughts and Positive Rainbow Haringey resumed the sexual health, health and well-being stall every Wednesday afternoon offering free advice and information in the ground floor concourse in Wood Green library.

Regular yoga sessions on every Wednesday afternoons and Indian folk dance class on every Monday afternoon are also ongoing activities. All activities will continue except on public holidays

Wise Thoughts chief executive and Artistic Director Niranjan Kamatkar mentioned, “We are working with more BAME, LGBTQI, queer, trans and intersex artists, arts practitioners of colour and we supported smaller commissions to create new art works and it’s being shared on Wise Thoughts website on an ongoing basis.”
