Harringay, Haringey - So Good they Spelt it Twice!

No building noise before 8am but its happening again in the regeneration of Tottenham-regardless of local residents

After trying to get the Council and developers to listen to local residents (yet still to have a meeting date set) we were woken by site noise just gone 7am at the Carpet Right development.

Anyone who has ever had to live nearby a large site will know just how disturbing it can be day to day and even more so when they breach the working hours.

I am keeping a noise diary with my iPhone and have the BBC on my side. However I still feel like I'm left pushing a big boulder uphill.

Emailed this to all the bods involved in the "Rebuilding of Tottenham' that's council and developers. Please note my mention of the Saturday build restrictions due to Spurs playing at home and NOT Saturday restrictions for the local residents wishing to 'play at home and enjoy peace and quiet of their home and gardens.

Any advice re this will be gratefully appreciated.

Dear All

After today's disappointment of being woken before 8am from noisy lorries and digging on site i had a great idea:
Why not pop in to my cottage before work for a tea or coffee and a chat around 7.45am to experience how lovely and peaceful our gardens are of a morning?
Then experience just how noisy the build is when it gets going at around 8am.
This way you can all empathise with what we are now having to put up with six days a week, for the foreseeable future.
Maybe then you will understand why the working hours of 8-6 are so important to stick to, and why we would like our right to a peaceful Saturday morning considered and respected and not get the odd quiet Saturday morning off because the Spurs are playing at home.
How sad that an inconvenience to a football match comes before the inconvenience and wishes of local residents!
Best regards
Victoria
