Promotional letter through the door this morning from Nextdoor, claiming to be from 'your neighbour' Azad in Burgoyne Road. I wonder if a)he really exists and b)he has given permission for his name to be used in this way.
Since Nextdoor is a huge California-based company which has previously been criticised for the way it uses it's members' data, I think I'll stick with HoL which fulfills the same function and is truly local!

Thanks Maddy. I'm sure Azad exists. Their roll-out plan is based on a few keystones, They include getting early members to recruit others and they also approach bodies like local council and police forces. They have huge venture capital funding and their business model is similar to Facebook's in that they will use the data of those registered to sell to advertisers. I know this from first-hand conversations with the Chief Exec and other senior team members, after being approached by the company as they were thinking about launching in the UK.
