Harringay, Haringey - So Good they Spelt it Twice!

The New River as it goes through the bottom of the Ladder is the lowest I've ever seen it. Ducks are standing on the bottom. Is this intentional because of flood fears that downstream water courses already have too much flow?

I've seen it lower last summer. (I stare at it out of home office window).

But it is a managed waterway and so what you are saying must be true. Else like last year something upstream could be blocked by debris and so flow downstream is restricted.

For up to date warnings of what is going on go the the Environment Agency and type in your postcode.

Not going to screen grab current warnings (i.e. none in HoL area) because it is updated every 15 minutes.

Looks pretty normal / even a little high at Hornsey station.

I was wrong. Having seen it from ground level, it IS low.

Giant ducks?

Could it have anything to do with the fact that they're removing the reservoirs that the river used to feed?

Which ones? Not the ones at Woodberry Down...

Don't know about that - but its pretty high now again (Friday).

It is variable and goes up and down a lot.

Seen the swans a lot  - but not so much the ducks. Too wet?!
