Harringay, Haringey - So Good they Spelt it Twice!

Just noticed a new pub has opened on Turnpike Lane " The Wellington" which was apparently a fixture there some number of years back even before Burger King! Lovely to have an Irish pub back in the area with hopefully some good music!!

The Wellington was an old pub sited on corner. It covered the Burger King site round corner and was huge. It changed its name for a while. Sold off the high rd part and seemed to disappear. Glad it s back in its historic location

The turnpike system was abolished in 1872 and the gate was dismantled. By this time, the Wellington public house was standing at the corner of Turnpike Lane and the High Road, now the site of a Burger King restaurant.
The Costa on the corner was the original Wellington
