Harringay, Haringey - So Good they Spelt it Twice!

There seems to be a new Holland a Barrett Health Food shop opening in Wood Green. It's a new double fronted place on the same side as M&S and should be about three or four times bigger than the current one adjacent to Shopping City. H&B not a wonderful shop compared to others in that line such as Infinity in Brighton but a far cry cheaper than your chain neighbourhood 'health' stores such as Planet Organic and Fresh & Wild.

From my experience the larger H&B stores are quite good in stocking veggie, vegan and organic foods (including substitutes, pulses, dried fruits/nuts) and have a healthy stock as well as all the usual vitamin supplements and protein bulkers.

I was going to put this in the exclusive Harringay Veggies group section but as they stock more than that niche, so in the interest of fairness I put it here.

I was also quite pleased to see this on Saturday... better than another pound shop, and definately far better than another betting shop!

It would be good to see Wood Green high road smarten up a bit. A nice bright double fronted shop selling health foods, vitamins and supplements... definately welcome IMO.
And it's right opposite the end of the road from where the Big Green Bookshop is. Things are looking up aren't they.
Now, how are we going to get rid of the 12 betting 'emporiums'?
Now, how are we going to get rid of the 12 betting 'emporiums'?

Pull up in a beat up old Range Rover wearing wrap around dark glasses and offer them a ride through the back lanes of Essex.
Bring back Corrigans' Butchers to the High Road - the perfect Protein Supplement to complement Holland & Barrett's growing pains. Time Wood Green had a real Adult Flesh Emporium once more.
Ironically OAE, H&B use to be (and still may well be) owned by Dewhurst - The Master Butchers. Also good to see H&B not selling out to the trendy "organic free range" flesh that is on sale in so many of our new 'whole and health food" chains.
I wonder if there's any connection between the Dewhurst link and H & B's gelatine capsules for its supplements?
Could be, there's a few vitamin supplements and protein powders in there that have animal or fish products, luckily the food stuffs do not contain Dewhursts rejects.
Organic free? That sounds old skool.
yeh I passed it on Saturday and it looked nearly ready to open - so it must be open by now. H&B is useful for us veggies for some things and altho their vitmins are not as good as some mail order (like Nature's Best for example) they're better quality than the big chain chemists and often have good special offers. Good for herb teas and nuts and seeds too.
Agree, that sounds like an improvement to Wood Green. I quite like H&B.
nice. another shop selling over priced products in an area with low income.. we already have one can we have something better instead. just my thoughts on it. we are getting a lidl which has been too long in coming then we have tons of phone shops, kebab shops, cheap turkish shops selling tat that falls apart before you leave the shop, 2 kfc,s, 2 macdonalds, thank allah we only have one burger king now, pizza hut has gone, chicken shops a plenty.. there is even a shop that calls itself a butchers with the worst smell of rotten meat in it i have ever smelt (and i am a butcher). we have the sports shop that has had a sign in it for 6 months now, telling us it is moving to the IF or intense and funky shop by argos soon, virgin media opened up.. wow we needed that one. seems the high road needs some injection into it of some good shops ..

the only time holland and barret are anywhere near cheap is when they have their better than half price sales and prices are around normal as most of the time they are so over priced, and their products can be bought in other places, boots are cheaper on supplements and that is a sad state of affairs..
Had a walk around this afternoon

Far better than earlier Shop near Boots

Can not believe that people really spend the sort of money on Suppliments

Worth Checking out for some of it's discount promotions
