New Haringey Gambling Policy for Consultation

In response to the new Licensing Act and, it appears from the attached, in particular our action in Harringay, the Council have revised their gambling policy.

Residents are invited to comment to licensing@haringey.gov.uk. This is your opportunity to influence the way in which the Authority will be dealing with gambling issues in 2010-2013.

The consultation letter and revised draft policy are attached.

I seem to remember that the Act gives councils the right to reserve additional powers/protections fro themselves. Does anyone recall what those are? I've just scanned the new policy and didn't seem them immediately, but they may well be there.

I'll be checking with Cllr. Nilgun Canver on the progress on the research they announced back in May 2008.
