Harringay, Haringey - So Good they Spelt it Twice!

Just wondering whether anyone has noticed these new flights over Tottenham - I am east of Downhills Park and they are since the beginning of July at least a very regular feature. We never had such flights before (only the occasional helicopters).
The flights are extremely low (one can clearly distringuish the different parts of the plane) creating a daily noise disturbance over my property and no doubt over many others in Tottenham. They start very early in the morning (around 5am if not earlier) and can carry on late at night too, sometimes within seconds of each other, sometimes a few minutes apart.  Initially I thought these were some sorts of flight exercise but they have been on-going now for over 4 months. They fly on a diagonal over my road (Kitchener Road) from Wood Green going towards Hackney, pass Downhills Park or Lordship Lane. This is causing me some distress as the noise is constant.
Does anyone have an idea of where the flights are coming from? going to?  I would like to lodge an official complaint to the airport authorities.
Do you know of any other actions that we can do to get this stopping?
thank you in advance,

Have you checked on flight radar?

no, will do!

just checked as aircrafts were flying over my head, and none appear on flightradar24 (without selecting any particular airport)!  Flights are shown flying much further south or north in Edmonton/Enfield area... what a mystery?!

I'm on there now and i can see a constant stream of planes coming over our houses... Are you using the website correctly?

could you send me the link you are looking at? I have zoomed in to Downhills park and see nothing...?

I've been viewing it zoomed out (so i can see the whole of london and beyond the M25) , and have been testing it by watching the approaching planes on the website and then hearing them outside.

The planes do a really wide circle approach over north Tottenham, going over Enfield and then curving round.  I have been amazed to find the ones that were flying over as far away as areas of Dalston and the other side of the Lee Valley etc, i could hear the rumble from outside. I guess sound travels really far when there's nothing in the way to stop it.

So my tip is to zoom right out, there is generally a constant trail of planes approaching from the East over Enfield which then turn.  In conclusion, you can hear planes that aren't just directly above one's house on the map.  Hope that helps -- I'm personally loving the FlightRadar website! I saw A380 approaching on the map and then watched it out the window this morning, very exciting!! :)

PS; I live on Summerhill Road

that is so interesting because I was wondering if that was possible at all i.e. that one could hear flights from so afar. Having said that the other day I came back from work and whilst at my front door I saw the flights really close right over my head, one after another. I had zoomed out on Flightradar before but I thought the flights were much further to be the ones I was hearing so loudly. So I am still puzzled by it all. But yes I can see the fun in the FlightRadar!!! thank you John for letting us know about it...

Hey John, the kidz and I are fascinated by this flight site - brilliant, thanks for linking you geek!

I agree the whole thing is really fun actually!

What kind of aircraft ?

these look like standard commercial aircraft (i.e. not military)

It sounds as if they are going into London City Airport
