This is the picture for December 2010 for HoL local area and it is from http://www.police.uk/

"1259 crime and ASB".

Not sure what to make of it yet but thought the link worth posting.

I'm not sure what purpose these figures serve, even if (and it's a big IF ) they are accurate.

Can you imagine trying to sell a house in Rowley Road today ?

Yes, ironically one of the claims that was being made about the site was that they'd done it in such a way that it would not have any effect on house prices. It didn't make sense then (if it is telling people more about the area than they know already, and it is bad news, then surely it could well have an effect) and it certainly doesn't now.

Like Mark I'm sure this is down to how specific incidents are being recorded, but you'd think this would have been considered as an issue before it was launched - it isn't rocket science to think that someone will quickly run the 'top ten streets' for this and that, exactly as the Mail have done.

Wasn't there a spate of bike thefts/muggings round that area last year, could these be what are being picked up? Without being able to get onto the site it is impossible to see what they are.

I briefly got onto the site and they were almost all (I think 77 out of 78) classed as anti-social behaviour. But that could be anything, really.

It could also be read as meaning that it's a really great place to live, where all the residents are incensed when anyone behaves badly, and are all quite comfortable dealing with the police (which I imagine they might not be in really dodgy places). It would be interesting to hear from anyone in Rowley Road.

Rowley Road may be full of curtain twitchers with fevered imaginations. If you want to sell your house, say nowt.

There seems to be a right lawless lot at the western end of Hewitt and Allison - getting Wightman a bad reputation by contagion or contiguity.

Right ole vagabonds in Hewitt for sure.

The site does not work at all now. But seriously, is anyone surpised? I'm not. I live here, and I have ears and eyes. It's a bit dodgy to say the least, and it's only gotten worse in the years I have been here. My guess is that all the betting shops are not helping.

Question is: How can we make it better?

"In another case, Rowley Road in Haringey was said to be the second worst in the UK for anti-social behaviour when in fact the crimes had been committed at a local hospital."

Well spotted Bling. Got a ref for that? Its pretty poor isn't it.

Cheers Bling. Thats two newspapers I never read in one day.

How much worse can it get???

Indeed, they "should" take it down and fix these things but they won't.
Well spotted, Bling. I have to admit I was a bit saddened when I saw Rowley Road had got a 'mention'...couldn't comment on whether it's fair or not, but it would be nice to know there was another explanation!
