Harringay, Haringey - So Good they Spelt it Twice!

Work on new premises seems to progress very slowly on the wee strip of Green Lanes, just south of Harringay Bridge between it and Lothair Road.

Walking past just now I noticed a couple of guys in the shop two down from the bridge, nest to where Trehantri, the old Greek record shop used to be. I asked them what the shop is to be. I was told a cafe-bar-restaurant with space for Shisha pipes towards the rear.

Apparently they hope to open in about four weeks. I understand it's to be called Rakkas.

They have a licensing application in with the Council. Here's what it says:

How do these shisha places manage the non-smoking regs? Is it OK cos it's not regular tobacco?

No, they're covered by the regs. There was uproar in Edgware road before they were introduced. Like Rania's, they must be planning on having an awning in the open air as a smoking area.
