Need to get a letter made official by a notary

Have to get a letter signed by a notary - or notarised.

Not totally sure which, or if they're different!

Anyone know anywhere decent local that could do this?

I went to a place in Stanford Hill - not very friendly but they did it while I waited and I paid around £50.
