Music on the Ladder is pleased to announce the latest in its season of musical events. On Saturday, 19 January, Singer Marianne Rizkallah and pianist Eugenie Aitchison will present a selection of songs by English composers inspired by Shakespeare, birds and folk music, at St Paul's Church on Wightman Road, starting at 7.30 p.m.
The recital will include Seven Shakespeare Songs by Madeleine Dring, who grew up on Raleigh Road here on the Ladder, as well as folk songs arranged by Benjamin Britten, whose centenary takes place this year.
There will be refreshments after the recital and there will be a retiring collection (with a suggested donation of £5) for church funds.
If you'd like to come along, it would be great to see you there!
