Harringay, Haringey - So Good they Spelt it Twice!

I've visited Mountview Court today and have noted the faulty street lighting and the recent missed rubbish collections there.

I have written to the highways department and to Homes for Harringay (which has responsibility for the estate as landlords) in order to ensure that whoever is responsible for the lighting repairs it as soon as possible. I understand that the problems with the lights have been reported a number of times already, but that there has yet to be a satisfactory response.

On the question of rubbish collection, I have spoken with Veolia and been told that this will be remedied straight away.

I will he checking the progress of the street lighting repairs, but if anyone wishes to bring anything to my attention I would be grateful if they would contact me, either via this site or via david.schmtiz@Haringey.gov.uk

I've just chased again. Will report as soon as I get a response.

I've now been able to speak again with Veolia's "Village Manager" for St. Ann's and Harringay Wards. He says he'll be right onto it, and I believe him.

I've been on to Veolia again,

It seems that the crews have been afraid to park in their usual spot, because of the parking restrictions that are now indicated by the zig zags next to the new crossing.

I've therefore contacted officials in the highways department with a request that they contact Veolia's village manager urgently, in order to agree a new parking spot or to provide the necessary reassurance about the old one.

I'm now told that the rubbish will be cleared by tomorrow at the very latest and that the parking service is considering where the vehicles can park without endangering the public. For the longer term, the highways department is considering whether to have a dropped kerb so as to permit the vehicles to park on pavements during collections.

The kerb is already dropped.
