Harringay, Haringey - So Good they Spelt it Twice!

More good news for Grainger: Grainger, the UK's largest listed residential property owner and manager, today welcomes Government's announcement to support the Build-To-Rent sector following years of lobbying. What will 'support' turn out to be?

This is the group that has been given £2m of public money by LBH and its subsidiaries as they would not have made enough profit from demolishing Wards Corner without it. This is your money, people.

Grainger has over £3.0bn of residential assets under management across the UK and Germany. Grainger invests in, trades and rents residential property across the UK and Germany. [Note that they are not, so far, a developer, except on the one site at Hornsey Baths, and that one was a listed building so they could not just smash it up. Their portfolio is made up largely of private individual houses that it buys up and then lets or sells on - many of them acquired via equity-release schemes.]

Well watch this space for a host of govt reforms designed to kickstart the ailing construction industry and no doubt to get much needed kudos before whenever the next awful election will take place, I just hope more young people will be voting or we'll have an angrier populace that have disenfranchised themselves by CHOOSING not to engage with the voting system, just how easy is it to choose to do one or the other? Goodness knows where LBH found the money to prop up this organisation, see the Paxmaninterview with Chloe Smith for an eye watering idea of how Haringeys finest might cope... Ooo it makes my blood boil. I don't know what this community feel about buytolet as an investment method whether it's on a par with trading in blood diamonds or cigarettes ... But using public money to help property co's to use their sticky fingers to then go on to delve into pvt eqaty? Yes we've all gotta live somewhere but why does everyone have to liv in their own self ontained condominiums these days and yes spelling mistakes are intentional its a struggle with autocorrect at this time of the morning! Can't say it all thank Goodies for that.

Voting, in Haringey, has given us 42 years of Labour in power and they feel unassailable. It's the majority Labour group (with a few honourable exceptions) which has tied itself into cahoots with Grainger and is pushing and pushing for the demolition plan, refusing to meet with the WCC which has a viable plan that would take just two years to complete. If we had been given that two million pounds (not that we are asking for it) our plan would be well under way by now.

The Condem coalition is going to wipe out social housing - they have three years to go on demolishing everything they despise ie the notion of a society that is interdependent.
