Months of Travel Disruption to Come in Wood Green
As part and parcel of the regeneration work to Wood Green, there will significant travel disruption in the coming months.
The work will introduce new road crossings and raised surfaces to prioritise pedestrians and cyclists and will be taking place at various points along the High Road until March next year.
Motorists have been advised to avoid the High Road where possible, while bus users will face disruption as routes are diverted or shortened to stop passengers being stuck in traffic.
The first stage of roadworks will start on Monday 1 September, as improvements get underway outside Wood Green Library and at the junction with Alexandra Road.

Would have been nicer to have used the Council money to keep open clubs and other facilities for the elderly and for young people. Crisis ? What crisis ? as Callaghan didn't say.

John, I'm unsure how far it's an option. Our incompetent Council still needs cash to pay for security on all the buildings now left empty. Like this one, for instance.
The issue of cuts on youth services was scrutinised by a concerned group of young people and others who conclusively showed that the figures given by the Council were inaccurate and misleading. As I recall, this was one of the few times when a member of the Kober "cabinet" - Cllr Joe Goldberg - actually had the honesty and grace to admit he'd got it wrong.
Which didn't stop the Koberites wasting public money on a party political propaganda campaign - posters advertising their "12 in 2012" pledges. One of which was about the Bruce Grove Youth Centre.
