Midwestern Kindness: Denver Reaches out a Helping Hand to HoL

From time to time I get a donation at HoL which helps keep the site going.

The other day, an amount arrived through HoL's Paypal donation portal. Usually I'm able to link any donation with a specific member either by name or email address. This time I couldn't make any link, but I sent an email with a thank you anyway.

This morning I got a note from a lady in a suburb of Denver, Colorado. She told me that she runs www.golden.com. She wrote that she's been hunting around for good examples of other neighbourhood websites, came across ours and liked it so much that she felt she wanted to send a donation.

Hows about that for the kindness of strangers. Thank you Barb; that really was very kind.

That's so very cool. I have been through Golden a few times as my sister lives in nearby Boulder. It's a lovely place to visit and I think Coloradoans are particularly community-aware. It doesn't surprise me at all that one of them reached out in this way.
