The Greens pushed Labour into fifth place in the South East as its vote rose sharply in (up by 100,000 votes or 50%), but it failed to gain more seats.
The Conservatives held on to their three MEPs with 479,037 votes.
Labour now have two seats, a loss of one, after polling 372,590 votes.
In third place were the Lib Dems with 240,156. They won one seat, along with the Green Party and UKIP.
The London region now only elects eight people to the Euro Parliament, one fewer than in 2004. (see
