A few weeks ago I signed up for some market research with a online company. I wanted to earn a bit of extra cash in my spare time and actually quite enjoyed doing the task which involved talking about London as a city and my good/bad experiences. The company have now become very quite and are not answering my emails in relation to the £50 incentive that was promised upon completion of the task. It's slightly annoying, and stressful even if they do end up paying me as I have made numerous phone calls and also sent a few emails. I was wondering if anyone on here does market research or anything similar? If so has your experience been good, and would you mind recommending a company as so far I have not had much luck with the companies I have used. Thanks!

That sounds dreadful. Have you googled the Company to see what comments there are from others online?
My daughter has been doing mystery shopping and has enjoyed it and hasn't been ripped off. Will ask her which Company she has worked for.
I'd start by checking if the company you signed up with is a member of the Market Research Society or equivalent; if so, you might be able to get redress through them.
Alternatively, if you want to make a (moderately) slow buck, you could sign up with YouGov or Valued Opinions. Both run online panels of people who complete questionnaires, typically earning about 25p per survey; with YouGov, you can cash in your credits for a cheque when your total reaches £50, which may take a while, but Valued Opinions send out far more surveys and "rewards" can usually be claimed - in the form of vouchers (Boots, John Lewis, etc) - once you have £10 on your account, which is usually much quicker. YouGov surveys are generally politics and opinion-based, whereas Valued Opinions are almost always consumer-related; I finally gave up the latter when I got bored with surveys about my TV/broadband/phone package, but I never had any problems with payment from either company. Responses are anonymised and I didn't get any sales calls or junk mailings as a result of completing surveys, but obviously payment depends on how many surveys you have time to take and whether you're eligible, as the criteria differ from one survey to another.
There are other online survey firms, too, though I've no experience of them, but the key factor in signing up is to check that they abide by MRS rules, which are strict about the ethics of research.
