Harringay, Haringey - So Good they Spelt it Twice!

Manhole cover replacement

Has anyone had to replace one? The cover (fortunately in garden border not on main path!) of one in our garden has rusted through and split. Many thanks for advice as to replacement..its over one of the sewers that cross the garden.

Sure that large DIY Stores carry them or a online supplier

Thank you both for your replies - you are right as to Thames Water - they are now responsible for manhole covers on private property so have been in touch and they will come and have a look!

Believe yo will find that anything on your property is your liablity

Reason their are number of insurance policies to cover Drainage and water issues

Remember a associate of mine in Country had a skip go through his drainage cover and he had to pay for cover and damage brickwork

I recently had mine replaced by Thames Water and it is at the back of my property. Cost me nothing, and that was due to that too!

Thank you for that reassurance - a lovely man came from Thames Water and took lots of photos and said they would be in touch.

Well - Thames Water came today and have replaced the cover free since its now their responsibility - same experience as Heather. Hope that information helps someone else!
