Harringay, Haringey - So Good they Spelt it Twice!

Man accused of robbing pensioner and leaving her to die makes court appearance

The tragic case of a local pensioner who was burgled, bound in duct tape and left to die of hypothermia will be heard at the Old Bailey this morning.

Defendant Szymon Wyrostek, 25, of Broad Lane, will appear via video-link at the Old Bailey for a plea and case management hearing.

He faces charges of manslaughter and burglary alongside defendant Kuba Dlugosz.

Charges were brought after elderly Eveline Kelmenson was found dead on New Year's Day, 2009, at the Stamford Hill flat where she lived alone.

The pensioner's legs had been bound in duct tape so she could not move and a post-mortem found the 83-year-old died from hypothermia.

Tests suggested the pensioner could have been attacked almost a month before she was found.
