Make a positive step and make or update your will
Believe me that I am not reacting in a silly way to this virus situation but I feel bound to share an idea with you all.
Since my dad died suddenly 30 years ago both my mother, my sister and I have always been happy to discuss our Will making with each other. We do not share all the details with each other though because it is a private document. It is to make sure that we do not die intestate. Intestate can cause a lot more problems after one of the family passes.
What Is Intestate? Intestate refers to dying without a legal will. When a person dies in intestacy, determining the distribution of the deceased's assets then becomes the responsibility of a probate court.
Intestate is usually not a great thing. I am not a legal person (so I am not looking for work) haha but when my dad died ( heart attack) many years ago, his Will was very helpful for my mother. Anyway whether the current virus situation is a worry to you or not now, no one can predict their future or whether their life will be long or short, for whatever reason. Also I do not have children but I am married and have nieces. nephews and charities that I care deeply about. Having made my Will makes me happy and calm to know they will be looked after, even in a small way, when I do go.

If you are a member of a Trade Union they often offer a Free Will writing service to its members and some charities offer FREE will writing services, such as Marie Curie
As Geraldine says get your will done asap, as dying without one causes a lot more stress and worry for those that closest to us.

Couldn't agree more. I am a solicitor specialising in wills and probate (although I'm not touting for work!). I see the problems when people die intestate or even when they die with an unsuitable home-made/online will that can often be challenged for all sorts of reasons e.g. allegations of under influence, lack of mental capacity, lack of knowledge of what the will actually means, not providing for those who are financially dependent on you, or invalid signing procedures. The latter is a particular problem now, with the potential problems of having two INDEPENDENT witnesses attend the signing. There is usually a solution to that problem though.
Please do a will with a professional specialist and do it now and put it away in the drawer. Most solicitors can still take will instructions without having to meet you in person, either by phone or ideally a video call.
And just to confirm the bleeding obvious. Doing a will doesn't mean you'll die any sooner.

Good advise if you can find a solicitor at the present time. We left messages for a solicitor in Crouch End recommended by the Law Society but not even a response to say too busy to take on the work.
We filled in a form for Cooperative Wills Service but still waiting their phone call.
Not a good time to be updating or making a will!! Hope we keep all well.
