London for London
Remember Tom and his Random Acts of Kindness? He just connected with me on Plaxo this morning and it seems that he's still up to lots of good. As well as a continuing involvement in in RAOK, he's also now involved with Leap Anywhere.
Leap Anywhere describe themselves as:
.... set up to publicise the things that people do, that do good, and to make it easier by listing these in one place. It is also a social platform that enables you to share past, present and future Leap experiences with other users for free.
The big news on the LA site today seems to be about the London for London event on 3rd October which is raising money for London charities.
London For London is a campaign that invites Londoners to contribute to a better and happier London. The event aims to engage the whole of London for just one night and get Londoners out of their homes, enjoying the fantastic things to do around them and thinking about some of the city’s more serious issues. On Saturday 3rd October 2009 London For London is asking London’s bars, clubs and pubs to invite every person who walks through their door that night to donate just £1 towards London For London. The money will go towards three fantastic local charities, Kids Company, Volunteer Police Cadets and 95.8 Capital FM’s Help a Child in London.
