Millions of tonnes of good food is sent to waste every year by the UK food industry. At the same time, there are now so many people in London who cannot afford to feed themselves and their families properly.
It doesn’t have to be this way.
Planzheroes have been established to diverting surplus food to people who need it
They were set up by a group of people who realised that without information about the options for diverting surplus food responsibly, caterers, supermarkets and others are discouraged and have no way of avoiding the waste.
The Planzheroes website provides information to connect potential food donors with recipients.
So, local businesses: If you have food to donate, just register and you can add details of the food you would like to donate. Please sign up and when you do so, come back here and let us know that you have done and we'll make a big noise for you!
