Harringay, Haringey - So Good they Spelt it Twice!

I'd really love to start learning French and was wondering if anyone either knew of anyone in the area or of any courses that might be good?

Thanks :D

I happened to notice earlier today that the Hornsey Vale Centre list French amongst an impressive looking list of classes. http://www.hornseyvale.org/classes.html

I don't know about locally but I spent seven years learning French at both the French Institute (pricey but really, really good) http://www.institut-francais.org.uk/ and then at City Lit (also excellent) http://www.citylit.ac.uk/. I'd happily recommend them both.

Wood Green Library

I am currently doing an open university course in French - it is very good and focusses on French culture and history as well - there are three levels.

Hi, i'm looking for the same thing!! I found out that Wood Green Learning Centre do French courses (and many other courses)... Not suitable for me as the dates would mean starting in September and i want to learn over the summer.

Maybe you'll find it useful ? http://www.haringey.gov.uk/hals_programme.pdf

Good luck!

My patner has been trying to learn French and wasn't really happy with the wood green library course.

He used the "Michel Thomas method" and made amazing progress.

I took classes at Alliance Française, was really good, it's pricy but it's structured and good quality.

Just stumbled across this post - local French tutor

HALS is great - and very cheap.
