Hugh, thanks for your post promoting the Community Café training. I’ve had an e-mail asking from more information so I will post that below to share with anyone is interested.
The course is free, running every Saturday for 8 weeks between 10am and 2pm from 11th August.
At the end of the training we plan to deliver a community café (on Saturdays only) which the newly trained volunteers will provide on a rota basis. Frequency of commitment will depend on the number that successfully complete the training .
Expenses will not be reimbursed for attendance at the training but are available for volunteering to deliver the community café.
We are hopeful that all those that attend the training will benefit from improved opportunities to gain employment, although the community café will run on a volunteer basis so no paid employment will be available directly from the café.
The training is funded directly by the Bridge Renewal Trust as part of our 5 year plan to deliver services required to the South Tottenham community.
