Lausanne Road pavement to be replaced
Working with Haringey Council, we are delighted to report that the pavement will be replaced. The work is scheduled to take place between 2nd December 2013 and 10th January 2014 though residents and businesses will be notified by Haringey Council, 7 - 10 days in advance of the specific date of the works.

I saw the guys inspecting the work today so I grabbed them and they will have a look at my puddle. Also the red cross is for the tree wardens so I really hope they are not planning to do away with "my" tree.

Again, in an ongoing job like this, it would make good sense for residents with particular worries to have a contact number/person. More than likely it could actually save money and enable the work to work more effectively.
The press-one-press-two-please-leave-a-message stuff only works so far. (If at all in some cases.)

Pavement puddles purged?

Not sure tbh. They now seemed to have raised the pavement slightly above my path so I am worrying that the puddle has just been moved on to my path. I will be throwing a few buckets on tomorrow and watch what happens.

Good testing weather this evening. And a couple of photos could be helpful tomorrow morning. To praise the work - if successful. Or to bring the contractors back if not.
By the way, I find that after any pavement work - including dropped kerbs or raised intersections - it's worth looking hard at the drain gullies. Sometimes the new gradings mean the gullies no longer drain properly. And sometimes heavy and prolonged rain shows blockages.
In which case Mother Nature often provides a useful tool to locate and mark the spot: a ligneous improvised detection device. (Or to use the technical jargon: a wooden stick.)

Hi Alan, it seems to work, no idea how as the pavement is 0.5 - 1cm higher than my path but the water somehow drains away some over the pavement and on to the road and the rest I dont know. I hope my path tiles dont studdenly start coming loose due to water builing up underneather.
I also dont understand why it has been finished nicely around some trees with paving and not at other trees where it is just a muddy mess inviting the dog(owner) to have a poo there.

Well the work is complete but they tarmac'd over the Cable London access points so Virgin will have to dig bits of it up again.

Why is things like this always done on the cheap - it never works out in the long run. It looks better than before but all they did was skim over the old tarmac raising the pavement and it is still not even - in fact I have already gone flying once.
