Harringay, Haringey - So Good they Spelt it Twice!

Can't see anything on here, (apologies if i am blind) but we got a letter thru a few days ago saying that Ablethird (who run the crap slot arcade on Grand Parade) are making an appeal to the Pope or some similar high authority to get 24-hour opening.

Strikes me that these people are desperate to start legal action against someone/anyone on the off chance of getting some compensation, given that there never seems to be anyone in their pathetic, glittering, Aladdin's cave of despair.

That being said, people coninuing to launder money made through prostitution on my doorstep is a continued and grave blight on this neighbourhood. Are there plans afoot to mount another campaign?

Must say that this place mystifies me. As far as I can see it is very often empty - how much money can they make??
This is now one of the only ways to Launder money so I suspect they only need a few people who earn money they want to hide from the tax man to make it profitable. Let's say I earn £3000 cash in hand a week, I take it into the bookies and place a bet that will definitely lose me £250 but no more. My money is now legitimate tax free gambling income!
To get back to the point see details below that I have been sending out to friends and neighbours and Groups - be good if HOL members did some writing too

Haringey Council Planning Application Number: HGY/2009/0094
Appeal Reference: App/Y5420/A/09/2111236

48 Grand Parade - Agora Gaming - over 18's Gambling Establishment - ( have appealed against Haringey Councils decision to refuse a planning application )
The application is to change their business hours to 24 hour trading Monday to Saturday and 8am to 11pm on Sundays.

This is obviously a ridiculous and outrageous application to have 24 hour gambling on Green Lanes but unless we all join in and inform the inspectorate this still can go through.

I would urge everyone - please tell friends and neighbours to write their own letters of objection to the The Planning Inspectorate to oppose the application of appeal.
Your letters of objection must be received by the 23/10/09 by the The Planning Inspectorate - please use their reference number
Appeal Reference: App/Y5420/A/09/2111236
Please can everyone write their letters of objection to:

The Planning Inspectorate
3/01 Kite Wing, Temple Quay House,
2 The Square, Temple Quay,
Bristol, BS1 6PN

you can apparently see the appeal at
www.planningportal.gov.uk
and tap in ref no: 2111236

Many thanks

Many thanks fro posting this Cml. See also Michael's posting about this. To avoid diluting the topic, I think we should focus on one thread and where threads get duplicated we usually keep the older one open.
