Just a quick question to those that live/lived on the ladder.
When does the sun sunshine in the back gardens on the RIGHT and on the LEFT (as if you driving up the Ladder from Green Lanes)
I've noticed the houses on the right hand side (North facing) also have sunny gardens in the lunchtime to early evening especially those situated above the passage towards Wightman Road.
How do your gardens fair? Been to view a few and the estate agents dont always show the orientation on the floor plan....
Thanks in advance for any info....

Gorgeous garden. loving the inflatable pool on the last shot.
I went at different times too. and noticed this week the North facing were basking in the sun from 10am till very later whilst the south were losing the sun from 3pm-4.30 ish.... The house i was monitoring we lost out on to another buyer but it was at the top of the Ladder on Right with a North facing garden. Gutted. But will keep any eye out....
Depends which way your house faces. Sun rises in East and sets in West....it shines from the South. So if you have a south facing house, the front gets the sun all day. In the morning the sun shines from the East and in the afternoon from the West.
In the summer, the sun is higher than winter. So in June the shadow at the back of the house is shorter than it would be in Spring or autumn.
But I would say so long as the garden gets a fair bit of sunlight, it does not matter which direction it faces. What may be more important, is getting a good layer of top soil over the clay....and making sure the area is drained without any pooling.
