LAMMY-a fence sitting jobsworth?
With the slaughter in Gaza attraction condemnation from just a handful of public figures the world crisis lurches from one extreme to the next. Perhaps we need to think about the forthcoming general election. With the unprincipled warmonger David Lammy (Tottenham)coming near the bottom of the list of unresponsive MPs.(see Harringayonline for details) it behoves someone to put up a credible alternative candidate. This has got to be a united effort. Left Unity, the Greens, Solidarity etc plus others are pretty puny on their own, but I feel a joint candidate could attract a sizable vote. The Lib Dems are up for grabs and their is little enthusiasm for Labour. What do people think?

Forget it, nobody can unseat a Labour MP in Tottenham. Just cross your fingers he doesn't get selected as the mayoral candidate. And to think I used to be a bit of a fan. Tsk.

I got a response once from his office. Plenty of platitudes and weaselwords in it, agreeing with my position, yet the subtext seemed to be 'David is not interested in supporting any EDM for which he cannot get the glory'. Then promptly proceeded to vote 180 degrees opposite to my position at the next opportunity on the subject.
If we can't get rid of Labour in Tottenham, we just need a better Labour candidate. Or is that not allowed by the authoritarian Labour machine?
