I have been twice , it is really good . portions are big as tapas go and good standard . I recommend it
We have been there a couple of times and it has been really good, it is spanish tapas, good portions and well priced- definitely worth a try. It doesn't look that busy so it would be good to put the word round about how good it is.
Cool, thanks guys! going to give it a try this week looks nice inside!
The Indian Tapas in Brouhaha are excellent! I can't believe that's their first pub.
Might have to try this, i thought it was just a bar, didn't know they served food too!
The tapas are really good. The guys are doing a great job. They're always smiling. Great atmosphere too.
We tried it out a few weeks ago and were incredibly disappointed -- the chorizo and chicken had an unbelievable amount of gristle in them. La Bota in Crouch End knocks it out of the water. It's a real shame because we love Selale. But I think it's a case of stick to what you know.
I really wanted to love La Taperia. I went there with a friend last night, had a booking for 8. We were on time after cocktails at Brouhaha. Announced our presence and that we had a booking, "what time?" "how many people?" barked at us, they seemed to have no knowledge of it at all. Then the waiter we had spoken to kept walking past and just ignoring us, going to and from Selale next door with full and empty plates. We went to the bar and explained we had been standing there waiting for a table for ten minutes when we had a booking. The girl behind the bar led us to a table - just as the first waiter was leading a couple who had arrived after us to the same table!
We ordered a bottle of wine but were brought two glasses of wine instead - I mentioned this but the bottle never appeared. Nor did the water we requested. We enjoyed the food - I really liked the fried goats cheese. Dessert was less enjoyable - and we did get water this time - but I should know better by now than to order dessert in a tapas place, it's never a strong point. Because I didn't eat all of mine the waitress said she would comp it.
It was a busy night, being a Saturday and Valentines Day, though at least half of the tables were groups. Maybe they just weren't coping? But I feel we were treated rudely by the first waiter.
I will go back and give it a second chance I'm sure (especially if someone here persuades me as I'd really like to think my experience was a one-off), but it's not top of my list. It was very quiet in Brouhaha but I liked it - I'll definitely go back for food there as it sounded really good and I'd like to lend my support.
