Harringay, Haringey - So Good they Spelt it Twice!

Kingfisher, jay and sparrow hawk - all in one week

I'm very happy to say that I have seen all three of the birds mentioned above in the space of one week within a ten minute walk of my house right here in North London. 

Kingfisher - on the stretch of New River between the station and Allison Road. 

Jay - in a tree on West Green Road

Sparrow hawk - sitting on a fence post in my garden of Sydney Road

What an absolute treat it's been.

how wonderful! I also saw a sparrow hawk in my garden during the summer and a recent Jay along that same stretch of the New River but have yet to see a Kingfisher. I’ll keep my eyes peeled! Thank you for sharing

As a keen birder I am very jealous to have yet not seen a sparrowhawk in the area. It's surprising how many times one can see a kingfisher (even if only for a few seconds) along the waterways of London. Forty Hall is stiff with them!
